Eligibility Criteria
To ensure fairness, transparency, and alignment with our mission to support deserving students, applicants for The Ark of Solace Foundation Undergraduate Scholarship must meet the following criteria:
Eligibility Requirements for The Ark of Solace Foundation Undergraduate Scholarship
- General Requirements
- The applicant must not currently be a beneficiary of any other scholarship or financial support program.
- The applicant must be applying for or currently enrolled in a Nigerian public university (Federal or State).
2. Academic Requirements
For New Students (Fresh Admissions):
- Applicants who have just gained admission into a Nigerian public university must meet the following:
- At least five (5) O’Level credits (including Mathematics and English) in not more than two sittings.
- A valid university admission letter from a recognized public university in Nigeria.
For Existing University Students:
- Applicants currently enrolled in a Nigerian public university must meet the following:
- A minimum of a Second-Class Upper (2:1) Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) or its equivalent..
- Official academic transcripts or result statement as proof of their CGPA.
- Confirmation of enrollment from their institution (e.g., a valid school ID card or proof of registration).
3. Financial Need Criteria
- Applicants must provide evidence of financial need. This can include:
- A letter of recommendation from a community leader, religious leader, or school authority verifying the applicant’s financial situation.
- Any other supporting documents (e.g., parents’/guardians’ financial status).
4. Application Documents
i) Eligible applicants are required to submit the following:
ii) Completed Scholarship Application Form (Online)
Proof of Identity: A valid government-issued ID card (e.g., National ID, Voter’s Card, or International Passport).
iii) For Fresh Students:
- Copy of O’Level result(s).
- University admission letter
iv) For Existing Students:
- Copy of latest academic transcripts or result statement.
- Confirmation of enrollment or valid school ID card.
v) Recommendation Letter: A letter from a credible source attesting to the applicant’s character and financial need.
5. Selection Process
- All applications will undergo a thorough review and shortlisting process.
- Shortlisted candidates may be invited for an interview or screening session (virtual or in-person).
- The final list of beneficiaries will be published, and successful candidates will be notified through official Foundation communication channels.
6. Conditions of Scholarship
- The scholarship will cover tuition fees and related academic expenses.
- Beneficiaries must maintain satisfactory academic performance (minimum CGPA of 3.5 on a 5.0 scale) throughout the scholarship duration.
- Beneficiaries must abide by the rules and conduct set by The Ark of Solace Foundation.
- Annual renewal of the scholarship will be subject to performance review and verification of continued enrollment in a Nigerian public university.
